When contemporary art comes to Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Hotel des Marronniers opens the doors !

For the second year, Hotel des Marronniers is participating into the Parcours Saint-Germain, an event that aims to invite contemporary artists to different types of places in the neighborhood: cafés, shops, hotels, galleries … Saint- Germain-des-Prés remains faithful to its artistic reputation and proposes a real circuit. From June 8th to 18th, 2017, have a plan (which you will find in all participating places – including the Hotel des Marronniers) and prepare to have a walk in the beautiful streets of Saint-Germain .

The Parcours Saint-Germain is a tremendous initiative that makes contemporary art more accessible to the public. By immersing works in very Parisian places, with the classic charm of the Hotel des Marronniers for example, we realize a fantastic collaboration.

Contemporary Art – Marine de Soos – Parcours Saint-Germain
Last year, we welcomed in our garden “Feuille de Ville“, a splendid work of Nathalie Auzépy. And the enthusiasm was such from both the public and the hotel, that we wished to participate again in the event. And it is the artist Marine of Soos who will come to put a work that we much love in our garden, “Le Grand Flûtiste” (The Great Flutist). This character, high of 1,28 meter, will take place on the terrace, like a solitary passerby with a delicious lightness. We are eager to reveal this subtle association, and look forward to contemplating it during those 10 days.

Each year, the Parcours Saint-Germain proposes a theme and the one of this new edition is: “Fragments of a motionless journey“. On the 8th of June, the opening ceremony will take place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and every participating place will welcome visitors and artists. The garden of Hotel des Marronniers will be delighted to present the work of Marine de Soos on this occasion, and then every day until Sunday June 18th, 2017.

See you on Thursday!
