Do you know the Maillol Museum in Paris ?

Located on rue de Grenelle, close to the lively rue du Bac, the Maillol Museum stands out with its majestic entrance. With its gateway, sculptures and small forecourt, the museum’s charm is felt even before you enter. The Fountain of the Four Seasons at the entrance to the museum was built between 1739 and 1745 by the sculptor Bouchardon. It was classified as a historic monument in 1862. The building itself has had several lives. A residential building (with illustrious inhabitants such as Paul Baudry and Alfred de Musset), a cabaret, then in 1955, Aristide Maillol’s model and collaborator, Dina Vierny, bought an apartment, before acquiring the entire building thirty years later. In 1995, the museum dedicated to Aristide Maillol opened its doors.

Inside, a permanent art collection is often accompanied by a temporary exhibition. A program of quality temporary exhibitions that never ceases to amaze.

Afterwards, take a break in the Maillol Museum’s vaulted café to recall the sweets seen upstairs. Colorful cushions, intimate atmosphere, absolute calm. A must-see!
