The Jacquemart-André Museum is probably one of the most beautiful museums in Paris. Located 25 minutes by metro from Hotel des Marronniers, it would be very sad not to push the doors of this magnificent mansion. Property of a bourgeois couple, Edouard André, art lover, and Nelie Jacquemart, painter, the museum offers a fabulous collection of paintings, furnitures, French but also Italian sculptures , and from different periods.

The Jacquemart-André Museum alone is an architectural gem. As you enter the big courtyard of the building, you can still feel the horses on the ground and the high society passing the porch. Each lounge, anti-room, music room, or apartments of Mr. or Madam, is a delight. What about the stairs and the winter garden ?! A majesty and attention to detail on walls, gilding and ceilings with fascinating allegories.

Until July 23, the Mary Cassatt exhibition, the most French of American painters, takes place upstairs. Take advantage of an audio guide or guide to learn more about this ambassador of Impressionism in America. A great friend of Degas, we find in her works a tenderness and a touching soul. Her portraits of woman and child with a dry point are of a rare and delicate precision. The Jacquemart-André Museum offers temporary exhibitions almost all year long. After the summer, it will “Caravaggio’s Roman Period” that will take place from September 21 to January 28.
