Sun is beautiful today, and, facing crowded terraces of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, we can just look forward to the weekend! And Paris will offer us on Saturday May 20th, an event that we love: The European Night of Museums. Every year, thousands of visitors pass through our monuments to satisfy cultural curiosity. And artistic productions add a special touch to the simple visit of a place: projections, concerts, shows … This Saturday night will be full of surprises …
Below are our favorites, not far from Hotel des Marronniers and which, we hope, will put lights in your evening …
The Eugène Delacroix Museum, 2 minutes walk from the hotel, on Place Furstemberg, was the house and studio of the famous painter. On the 20th of May, discovery tours of the exhibition “Maurice Denis-Eugène Delacroix, from the workshop to the museum” are organized from 6:00 pm to 11:30 pm. In the garden of the museum, an installation by Constance Guisset, “Chroma“, mixes design and writings of the painter.
The Augustus count Apartment will open its doors for visits but also for the exhibition “Out of time“. Indeed, the apartment-museum becomes an installation stage for Mathias Kiss and his offbeat objects. From 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, 10 rue Monsieur-le-Prince.
Music at Cluny Museum! The Middle Ages Museum offers the discovery of medieval musical instruments with the trio Alta. Every hour from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm in the courtyard of the Abbés de Cluny. A magical moment in a historic place of the City!
Val de Grace is one of those monuments that at night fell, put stars in the eyes. On Saturday night, the place will be open for visits and at the end of the tour, a sweet melody will resonate in the church … Visits from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm and music from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Zadkine Museum, rue d’Assas, will offer, in addition to nocturnal visits, two workshops on the awareness of movement. Visits from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm and workshops at 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm.
Far from being exhaustive, this selection does not include the gates of Luxembourg Garden, the Pissaro exhibition at Luxembourg Museum or the Tales of the World at Quai Branly Museum. So visit the Official Website of the European Night of Museums in order to enjoy your Saturday night!
